Description
Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Chimantd Massif, Central Section, on open forested laterite slopes along tributary of east branch of headwaters of Rio Tirica, 2185- 2210 m alt., epiphyte on shrub, leaves erect, coriaceous, revolute, pale green with the midrib strongly sulcate above and elevated beneath, February 13, 1955, J. A. Steyermark ir J. J. Wurdack 875; same locality, in swampy savanna along west branch of headwaters of Rio Tirica above Upper Falls, 2090 m alt., on tree, leaves olive, pseudobulbs subterete, deep purple, peduncle arching, young fruit bronzegreen, February 17, 1955, Steyermark ir Wurdack 916. The type was from Venezuela.
