    Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Mt. Roraima, 2300 m alt., Im Thurn 304; Auyantepui, 1100 m alt., plant on rocks, very abundant in dry open places, pseudobulbs clustered, April, 1956, Vareschi & Foldats 4589 (flowers poor); same locahty, cumbre de la parte sureste del brazo noroeste (division occidental del cerro): faldas sobre piedras igneas, vecindad del "Rio Lomita Camp," 1800 m alt., in moist rich mossy forest of quebrada northwest of Rio Lomita Camp, epiphyte on tree, leaves rich green, coriaceous. May 10, 1964, J. A. Steyermark 93641 (this plant represents an undescribed species, but lacks satisfactory flowers); same locality, cumbre de la parte norte de la seccion sur (división occidental del cerro): a lo largo del Rio Churún al pie de "Second Wall" de arenisca, desde el campamento norte, 5 kms hacia el noreste, 1660 m alt., in moist mossy riverine forest, epiphyte on tree branch. May 12, 1964, Steyermark 93779 (this plant represents the same undescribed species as the former collection and has furnished an immature bud); Ptari-tepui, 2419 m alt., J. A. Steyermark 59895 (flowers old) ; bosque muscoso a lo largo de las cabeceras de una pequeiia quebrada arriba de la ladera escarpada de arenisca, 1395-1400 m alt., epiphyte on branches, leaves dark green and purple, December 31, 1963, Steyermark & Dunsterville 92447 (no flower seen); bosque humedo montañoso a lo largo del afluente izquierdo (Este) subiendo el Rio Venamo desde el campamento cerca de la union con el afluente derecho (Oeste) del Rio Venamo, 950-1000 m alt., on small branches of Coussapoa, January 10, 1964, Steyermark & Dunsterville 92932 (sterile) . Amazonas: Mt. Duida, Laterite Valley, Savanna Hills, 135 m alt., G. H. H. Tate 840 (no good flowers).
