Description:Distribution and Ecology - COLOMBIA. Vaupes: Cerro de Yapobodd, about 184 m alt., at the headwaters of Rio Kuduyari, in savanna among scrub, August 15, 1960, L. A. Garay 115. VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Ptari-tepui, 1500-1520 m alt., terrestrial on southfacing densely forested slopes between "Large Lunch River" and "Misia Kathy Camp," leaves membranaceous, rich green and sulcate above and pale beneath, scape purple, angled, fruit erect, purple and dull green, October 27, 1944, J. A. Steyermark 59443 (only vegetative parts seen). Middle America, the West Indies and South America to BRAZIL (type) and PERU.
