Description:Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Chimantd Massif, northwestern part of summit of Abacapa-tepui, 2125-2300 m alt., terrestrial in Bonnetia forest, leaves firmly membranaceous, deep green above and dull green beneath, inflorescence erect, bracts green, peduncle dull lavender, flower rich purple with the sepals reflexed and the petals erect, April 13, 1953, J. A. Steyermark 74914 (type) ; Auyan-tepui, south flank above El Peiion, about 2000 m alt., on steep rocky slope, almost completely hidden in low thick brush and grass, G. C. K. Dunsterville 861.
