Description:Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Auydn-tepui, cumbre de la parte sureste del brazo noroeste (division occidental del cerro): noroeste del "Drizzly Camp," vecindad de afluente de Rio Churiin, oeste del Salto Churiin, en bosque humedo, 1850 m alt., along river, epiphyte 1.5 m up on tree branch, leaves thick-coriaceous, 3 mm wide, rose-purple. May 5, 1924, J. A. Steyermark 93454; Chimantd Massif, Toronotepui, 2030-2150 m alt., on north-facing slopes on summit above valley of Caño Mojado, on rock in savanna, leaves fleshy-coriaceous, 3-4 m m thick, purple above with sulcate midrib, and angled beneath, February 21, 1955, J. A. Steyermark & J. J. Wurdack 1027 (type) ; El Dorado road, between Kms 22 and 88, G. C. K. Dunsterville 426; common from Km 112 to Km 125 and beyond past Rio Venamo camp, 900-1200 m alt., on light branches of trees in forest, Dunsterville 848.
