    Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Sororopdn-tepui, 1500-1700 m alt., frequent epiphyte on middle north-facing slopes, flowers bronze-yellow, December 16, 1952, B. Maguire & J. J. Wurdack 33836; Chimantd Massif, southeast portion of Apdcaratepui 1700-1850 m alt., on densely forested slopes between upper reaches of Rio Tirica (left-hand fork) and Riscobel Ledema Camp, epiphyte on tree, leaves erect, coriaceous, deep green with sulcate midrib above and pale with darker green midrib beneath, flowers yellow and madder-purple, June 23, 1953, J. A. Steyermark 75957 (type) ; Chimantd Massif, Torono-tepui, 1760-1880 m alt., in Clusia forest on slopes of Middle Falls of Rio Tirica below Summit Camp, on branch, leaves erect, coriaceous, deep green above and paler with dull green midrib beneath, sepals and petals tawny-yellow, the dorsal sepal with central pale lavender stripe, petals projecting forward and ascending, lip dark maroon, column dull lavender at base and cream-white at apex, March 1, 1955, J.
