Description:Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Ptari-tepui, 1810 m alt., on forested south-facing slopes overlying sandstone, on "Cave Rock" above "'Cave Camp," terrestrial on mossy hump, October 29, 1944, J. A. Steyermark 59512; Ptari-tepui, 1600-2000 m alt., in southwest slope forest and savannas, terrestrial, flowers green, December 17, 1952, B. Maguire & J. J. Wurdack 33884; same data, frequent in scrub forest, Maguire & Wurdack 33904 (fruit); Chimantd Massif, northwestern part of Abdcapa-tepui, 1210-1600 m alt., in wet mossy forest with standstone boulders, between Camp 3 and main line of sandstone bluffs, epiphyte on tree trunk, leaves coriaceous, rich green above and paler beneath, April 17, 1953, Steyermark 75095 (old fruit, so determination is only probable). COLOMBIA, PERU (types of Humboldtia revoluta and Pleurothallis diffusa) and BOLIVIA. The type of P. semipellucida was from VENEZUELA.
