Description:Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Chimantd Massif, 2200-2300 m alt., above southeastfacing upper shoulder on slope leading to summit of Apdcara-tepui, in upper mixed Clusia-Magnolia forest, epiphyte on Magnolia, leaves erect, coriaceous, deep green and shining above, paler and dull beneath, June 20, 1953, J. A. Steyermark 75838; Chimantd Massif, east central portion of summit of Apdcara-tepui, 2450-2500 m alt., on edge of large rock, leaves erect, coriaceous, deep olive green with bronze-purple suffusion above, pale green with lavender midrib beneath, stems blackish purple, sepals and petals buff striped with maroon-purple, June 21-22, 1953, Steyermark 75950. The type is from VENEZUELA.
