    Distribution and Ecology - BRITISH GUIANA. Kaieteur Plateau, occasional epiphyte, flowers dull purple-brown. May 14, 1944, B. Maguire & D. B. Fanshawe 23445 (buds only). VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Auydn-tepui, cumbre de la parte sureste del brazo noroeste (divisi6n occidental del cerro) : faldas sobre piedras igneas, vecindad del "Rio Lomita Camp," 1800 m alt., in quebrada northwest of Rio Lomita Camp, epiphyte in rich dwarf mossy forest on tree trunk, leaves rich green above and purple-mottled with dull green margins beneath. May 10, 1964, J. A. Steyermark 93629; same locality, cumbre de la parte norte de la seccion sur (division occidental del cerro): a lo largo del Rio Churiin al pie de "Second Wall" de arenisca, desde el campamento norte, 5 k m hacia el noreste, 1660 m alt., in moist mossy riverine forest, epiphyte on tree branch, leaves purple beneath, 2 cm wide.
