Description:Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Chimantá Massif, lower southwestern slopes of Chimanta-tepui (Torono-tepui) near Rio Tirica, 1000 m alt., vicinity of small quebrada near Base Camp, in rich forest, epiphyte over termite nest on slender tree, leaves erect, coriaceous, dull green above and paler beneath, "2 lateral sepals projecting forward, pale green without, finely spotted dull lavender within, 2 cm long, 0.6 cm wide near base, 2.5 mm wide near tip; upper sepal erect, dull yellow for 15 mm from apex down, otherwise pale greenish spotted dull lavender near base and middle, 23 mm long, 1.5 mm wide except at base where 5 m m wide," May 24, 1953, J.
