Description:Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Chimanta Massif, northwestern part of Abacapatepui, 1210-1600 m alt., in wet mossy forest with sandstone boulders, between Camp 3 and main line of sandstone bluffs, epiphyte on No. 75061 (Weinmannia), leaves erect, coriaceous, deep green above and paler beneath, flowers yellowbrown, April 17, 1953, J. A. Steyermark 75063; same locality, 1300 m alt., on forested slope adjacent to quebrada, vicinity of Camp 3, epiphyte on No. 75188, leaves thickly coriaceous, rich green on both sides, flowers greenish yellow, April 20, 1953, Steyermark 75191; southeast-facing upper shoulder of Apacara-tepui, in elfin forest formation on plateau, 2000 m alt., epiphyte on large boulder, leaves erect, coriaceous, rich grass-green above and paler beneath, flowers buff tinged with pale lavender, June 19, 1953, Steyermark 75723. The type was from VENEZUELA.
