    Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Bolivar: Auyan-tepui, cumbre de la parte sur: meseta de piedra arenisca, entre "Oso Woods" y "Libertador," 2050-2300 m alt., terrestrial at the base of moist zanjon below and north of El Libertador, leaf-blades coriaceous, deep green above and yellow-green to dull green beneath, petiole and scape maroon-salmon, bracts magenta-salmon, flowers dull green suffused with dull salmon-magenta. May 15, 1964, J. A. Steyermark 93962; Ptari-tepui, southwestfacing shoulder, 2200 m alt., in Brocchinia-Stegolepis-Heliamphora swamp, November 2, 1944, Steyermark 57772 (type).
