    Distribution and Ecology - COLOMBIA. Amazonas-Vaupés: Rio Apaporis, Raudal de Jirijirimo (below mouth of Rio Kananari), with a quartzite base, about 277 m alt., lat. 0° 5' N., long. 70° 40' W., terrestrial 3 ft high, on humus or rocks of rapids, flowers yellow with a white lip, January 21, 1952, R. E. Schultes & I. Cabrera 14939. VENEZUELA. Amazonas: Rio Vaupes near Panure, on rocks of the cataracts, R. Spruce 2799; Rio Casiquiare, Caiio Macasi, L. Williams 15783; along Rio Yatua, just above Piedra Arauicaua, 130 m alt., epiphyte, flower white, the center of lip yellow, July 16, 1959, J. J. Wurdack & L. S. Adderley 43473. (This last determination is tentative, since the single flower was agglutinated.) BRAZIL (type of S. chlorantha) and COSTA RICA (type of S. macrophylla).
