    Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA. Amazonas: Rios Pacimoni-Yatua, Casiquiare, on slopes of Piedra Arauicaua, 150 m alt., terrestrial, buds rich rose, February 3, 1954, B. Maguire, J. J. Wurdack & G. S. Bunting 37459 (leaves large, no flower examined); same locality, occasional in open areas on Piedra Tururumari, 110-220 m alt., plant branching, up to 2.5 m tall, flower rich orchid, lip white with central purple vein, February 4, 1954, Maguire, Wurdack & Bunting 37484; Rio Yatua, frequent on open rock slopes of Piedra Arauicaua, 100-140 m alt., terrestrial, up to 1.5 m high, flowers magenta, January 10, 1958, B. Maguire, J. J. Wurdack & C. K. Maguire 42619. BRAZIL (type) and PARAGUAY.
