Bolivar: Chimanta Massif, Torono-tepui, around large rocks in open dwarf forest, on north-facing slopes on summit above valley of Caño Mojado, 2030-2150 m alt., stem purple below, glaucous silvery green above, leaves erect, subcoriaceous, glaucous silvery green, sepals stramineous without and pink within, petals rose, lip deep rose with golden crest, column deep orchid, February 21, 1955, J. A. Steyermark & J. J. Wurdack 1014 (taller and with more flowers than typical). BRAZIL (type).
