    Genus Description - Annual herbs with opposite, digitately trifoliolate leaves. Inflorescence dichasial with two cincinnoid-racemes and a terminal flower at the peduncle apex. Calyx zygomorphic, the 5 sepals unequal in size and shape, imbricate in bud, foliaceous. Corolla zygomorphic, tubular, the lobes unequal, the tube straight. Stamens 5, epipetalous, 2 fertile, the anthers unappendaged. Disk cupular, shallower than the height of the 5-carpellate ovary, the carpels united only in the style. Segments of the fruit 1-5, one-seeded.
