Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Along the upper Mazaruni and Potaro Rivers, British Guiana. Habitat. Mixed forest on white sands.

The widespread R. crassipes (Benth.) Huber has been collected in all the Guianas and in northern Brazil to Manaos; it m a y well be found in Guayana in the future. It differs from R. sylvestre principally in the strongly incrassate, recurved- clavate pedicels, but its leaves are also broader and more abruptly acuminate.
