    The widespread R. crassipes (Benth.) Huber has been collected in all the Guianas and in northern Brazil to Manaos; it m a y well be found in Guayana in the future. It differs from R. sylvestre principally in the strongly incrassate, recurved- clavate pedicels, but its leaves are also broader and more abruptly acuminate.
