Ugni friedrichsthalii a longipes Berg, Linnaea 27: 389. 1856.

Ugni friedrichsthalii ß brevipes Berg, Linnaea 27: 389. 1856.

Ugni montana (Benth.) Berg, Linnaea 27: 392. 1856

I refer to this variety all material from Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. Most of the numerous specimens in herbaria are superficially similar to Ugni myricoides var myricoides, differing chiefly in the usually longer peduncles and the somewhat smaller calyx-lobes.

The types of Berg's two varieties, as may be seen from a photograph (Field Mus. neg. 31394, photo of types at W ) , both represent this Central American variety with narrow long calyx-lobes.
