description see Amshoff (Fl. Suriname 3(2): 152. 1951). This is a httleknown but apparently distinctive species of river-margins in British Guiana and Suriname. In our area it is one of the few species of Psidium with sessile or subsessile leaves, distinguished from P striatulum by its larger and more obtuse leaves. The difference in pubescence (used by Amshoff as a character in the key) is scarcely a vahd one in the specimens I have seen.
