For description see Field Mus. Publ. Bot. 13(4) [Fl. Peru]: 776. 1958. This species seems to be known still from the original collection only. It is included here for comparison, as it resembles Calycorectes wurdackii in a number of respects. As pointed out above, the difference between species with 2 ovules in each locule of the ovary, and those with 3-5 or more, m a y not be a fundamental one, and when the South American species of Plinia and Calycorectes are better known, the supposed differences between them can be better evaluated
