Discussion
For description see Amshoff (Fl. Suriname 3(2): 131. 1951). Apparently this species is still known from the type-collection only, viz, Sagot 259, from "sylvis Karouany," French Guiana. I have seen the 4 sheets of this number that bear Sagot's notes, at P, and also duplicates at B M , K, and U. I can add little to Amshoff's description except for the measurements given in the key above. The lectotype, at P, is a specimen of no. 259 collected in 1855 (the others dated 1856), bearing in Sagot's hand the name, diagnosis, description, and drawing of the fruit.
