Distribution and Ecology - BRAZIL. Maranhao: 35 k m s of Loreto, fr, G. & L. Eiten 4573 (K, US); Ilha de Sao Luiz, fl [male] in Apr, Froes 30708, fr in May, 24190 (IAN). Goias: burned campo, 950 m, 7 km w of Veadeiros, Irwin & al. 12901 (NY).

Not hitherto recorded from Goias. Irwin describes the plant as a hana up to 4 m long, the older stems producing long aerial roots. Immature fruits green, the pulp (Eiten) becoming pale orange.
