Discussion
This species of bamboo was described by Swallen from material gathered by Maguire, Wurdack and Bunting on Cerro de la Neblina, Amazonas, Venezuela, in 1954. It was found again in 1957 by Maguire, Wurdack, and Maguire, in essentially the same area. These collections from the Brazilian side of Neblina indicate a distribution over the summit of Neblina and what appears to be rather frequent or continuous flowering.
