    Species Description - Tree. Leaves coriaceous, strongly revolute, elliptic- or ovate-oblong to elliptic-lanceolate acute, obtuse, or rounded at apex, rounded or obtuse to subacute at base, 8-26 cm long, 4-10.5 cm wide, 2.5-2.8 times longer than broad, upper surface with subimpressed primary lateral and intermediate nerves, the tertiary venation usually suppressed or only faintly evident, lower surface manifestly nerved, the primary lateral and intermediate nerves prominent, the tertiary veinlets conspicuously transversely impressed or elevated to form a subparallel, elongated, and subhorizontal pattem; petioles 3-10 mm long. Inflorescence paniculaXQ, 6-19(-26) cm long, 5- 10(-15) cm wide with 2-4(-5) spreading axes 3- 10(-14) cm long. Flowers solitary or crowded in short fascicles of 2 or 3; pedicels 5-7(-10) mm long.     contrasted with that of O. roraimae Engl., the toms of O. sagotii is enlarged and sphaeroidal, whereas that of O. roraimae is longer than broad as in O. surinamensis (Planchon) Wehlb., although not as elongated as in that species. Moreover, in O. roraimae the leaf blade is 1.5- 2 times longer than broad, whereas in O. sagotii it is 2.5-2.8 times.
