Discussion
Type. Tree 3 m high, 10 c m diam, calyx yellowish, corolla cream, slope of Pirapucu, Serra da Neblina, 1300 m ah, Rio Negro, Rio Cauaburi, Rio Maturaca, 26 Jan 1966, Nilo T. Silva & Umbelino Brazao 60903 (holotype N Y ) .
The trilocular ovaries and brown pubescence ofthe lower surface ofthe leaflets relate Schefflera coriacea subsp. neblinae to S. umbellata, but the non-decurrent leaflets and superposed verticels ofthe inflorescence suggest a closer affinity with S. coriacea.
