Discussion:

subsp. guanayensis foliolis basi cuneatim acutis vel subacutis, nervo marginali vix evoluto recedit.

Schefflera guanayensis is related to S. pedicelligera, from which it may be distinguished by the non-crenulate leafmargins, the non-cordulate leaf bases, and the style branches which are shorter than the connate portion of the style.
