Description:Distribution and Ecology - Arbor ad 2.5 m , 50 c m diam; petiohs 25-60 c m longis, 3.5-6.0 m m latis, sparsepuberuhs; foliolis vulgo 7, late ovato-oblongis vel late oblongis, abrupte acutisvel breviter obtuse acuminatis, late rotundatis ad basim, vulgo 15-30 c m longis,4-16 c m latis, coriaceis, supra glabris, subter ferrugineis; nervis lateralibus prominentibus, elevatis, 8-10-13-binatis, adscendentibus ad marginem lectis; petiolulis vulgo 5-10 mm longis; peduncuhs 1.0-2.5 c m longis; inflorescentiis fulvis, vulgo 20-35 c m longis, spicate multifloribus, spicuhs lateralibus numerosis, vulgo 3-4 c m longis; floribus sessilibus, hypanthio ca 3-5 m m longo, extus dense sericeo;calyce ca 1.5 m m longo; petahs ovatis subacutis, ca 3.5-4.0 m m longis, 2 m mlatis; ramis styli 2; fructibus ignotis.

Discussion:

Type. Tree 25 m high, 50 c m diam, calyx and corolla ferruginous, stamens and anthers yellow, in high forest at 1250-1300 m alt, Serra Pirapucu, Serra da Neblina, Amazonas, Brazil, 29 Jan 1966, Nilo T. Silva & Umbelino Brazao 60941 (holotype N Y , isotype MG ) .
