Discussion:

Type locality: capoeira, em frente a Ilha das Flores.

In general appearance the type of S. pachnococca suggests the broad-leaved variant of S. duckei mentioned above, but differs in the large size of the blade (of little taxonomic importance, probably), 5- not 3-plinerved from the base, and incipiently bullate by impression of the major nerves. The drupe of S. duckei is subglobose, 10-11 mm long, that of S. pachnococca oblong-obovoid, 17-18 mm long. Firmer distinction is contingent on characters of staminate inflorescence, not yet available.
