Discussion:

This species resembles and is allied to some of the Central American species of the genus, such as Lisianthus crenatus Perk, and L. corymbosum Perk., but differs in details of the corolla and calyx, as well as foliage. From L. collinus Standley the new species differs in the abruptly caudate or acuminate corolla-lobes, longer corolla-lobes, and much larger corollas.
