    Distribution and Ecology - Known only from Suriname. SURINAME. In addition to the tvpe specimen, the following may be recorded: Forest 9 km N of Lucie Rider, 12 km W of Oost Rivier, Wilhelmina Gebergte, 3°36'-3°41'N, 56°30'-56°34'W, alt 275 m, 31 Jul 1963, shrub to 1.5 m, fruit green maturing violet, Irwin, Prance, Soderstrom & Holmgren 54519.

    An examination of the ovary on the holotype specimen from Utrecht reveals that it is 4-celled with 1 ovule ascending from the side of each cell.
