Description
Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Known only by the type from Auyan-tepui and from the nearby Chimanta-tepui, where the small shrub is generally distributed on the cumbre above 2000 m altitude. Obviously most closely related to S. condensata.

TYPE: Auyan-tepui, at 2200 m altitude, Edo. Bolivar, Venezuela, December 1937-January 1938, Tate 1322 (NY).
