Description:Distribution and Ecology - Shallow still water from NE United States to Argentina and in tropical Africa. Common at low altitudes in Venezuela, British Guiana, Suriname and in Colombia and Peru it occurs from sea level to more than 3300 m alt. Only a few specimens have been seen from the Guayana Highland. VENEZUELA.
