    Distribution and Ecology - Floating in lowland rivers, British & French Guiana, Suriname and throughout tropical Africa and in Madagascar. BRITISH GUIANA. Pome-roon District, Moruka River, De La Cruz 4514 (K, NY, YEN) ; Rupununi River, St. Ignatius, Harrison 1308 (K). FRENCH GUIANA. Melinon s.n. (P); Sagot & Leprieur s.n. (P).A widespread species but with an apparently restricted distribution in America.
