    Distribution and Ecology - Wetter parts of savannas, sea level to alt 900m, Trinidad, Venezuela, British Guiana and Brazil. VENEZUELA. Bolivar: savanna and morichal 0.5 km NE and E of Uriman, alt 393 m, Steyermark & Wurdack 9 (VEN) ; Rio Parguaza, just W of El Carmen about 50 km above mouth, alt 100 m, Wurdack & Monachino 40968 (K, NY). BRAZIL. Mato Grosso: near source of Rio Paraguay, Dorrien Smith 224 (K). BRITISH GUIANA. Rupununi River, 20 miles S of Lethem on Wichabi road, alt 90 m, Cook 192 (K, NY) ; Rupununi River, sand creek, Wilson-Browne 54 (K); Kanuku Mts., Iramaipang, alt 900 m, Wilson-Browne 581 (K). Cook 192 is much more robust than the other specimens cited and also differs in its acute or acuminate rather than obtuse or rounded calyx lobes.
