Discussion:

Utricularia arenicola Tutin, Jour. Bot. 72: 312. 1934. Type. British Guiana Kaieteur Savanna, Tutin GOG (BM, K).

Utricularia arenicola Tutin var kavanayenu Steyermark, Fieldiana Bot 28: 535 1953

Type. Venezuela, Bolivar, Gran Sabana, Steyermark 59335 (F, VEN).

Type. Brazil. Minas Gerais, Surra da Candonga, St. Hilaire (holotype P).

I am quite unable to find any difference between U. arenicola and var kava- nayena and although the type material of U. nana is scanty it is undoubtedly the same.
