    Distribution and Ecology - Damp sandy savannas mostly at low altitudes, British Honduras, Venezuela, British and French Guiana and Brazil. BRITISH GUIANA. Kaieteur Savanna, 360 m, Sandwith 1323 (K) ; Parubara Savanna near Isherton, Myers 5612 (K).

    U. aureolimba Steyermark, Fieldiana Bot. 28: 535. 1953. Type. Venezuela. Bolivar, Gran Sabana. Steyermark 50351 (VEN).

    The type of U. aureolimba Steyermark is the only record of U. adpressa from Venezuela and appears also to be the highest recorded altitude for this species (1220 m). Apart from a considerable variation in the length of the spur this species is very constant.
