Discussion
35. Strychnos pedunculata (A. de Candolle) Bentham, Jour. Linn. Soc. 1: 105. 1856. (?) Strychnos hredemeyeri (Schult.) Badillo in Pittier et al., Cat. Fl. Venezolana 2: 287.1947 (3d Conf. Interam, Agric. Caracas). Immature fruits of this species were described on the basis of A. C. Smith 2278 (1: 294)4 and recently in a packet of Cardona 1229 (VEN) were found remnants of shells, which are thin and apparently from small fruits. We note here that this is the first record of S. pedunculata from Delta Amacuro, Venezuela. For its habitat in Venezuela and British Guiana, see 7a: 50.
