    Distribution and Ecology - Known only from British Guiana, in the Mazaruni and Essequibo River basins. BRITISH GUIANA. Lower Cuyuni River, in hilly mixed forest on right bank below first falls (type locality), 20 Sep 1937, Sandwith 1560 NY); Winiperu Creek, lower basin Essequibo River, 16 May 1952, Fanshawe 3354, R.X. 6883 (femaleNY); Takutu Creek, Puruni River, Mazaruni River, 16 Oct 1944, Fanshawe 2028, R.N. 4764 (male NY); 7 Dec 1944, Fanshawe 2142, R.N. 4878 (female holotype of D. mazarunensis Croiz. NY).
