3. Distictella monophylla Sandwith, Mem. N. Y. Bot. Gard. 9: 361. 1957. Type. Venezuela, Amazonas, Maguire & Politi 27717 (K, NY, VEN). This small shrub is found only in the Guayana region but is not restricted to the uplands. It is characterized by its simple raised-reticulate leaves (see D. laevis Part II below).
