  • Discussion

    3. Anemopaegma maguirei Sandwith, Bull. Torrey Club 75: 664. 1948. Type. Surinam, Maguire 24403 (K, NY). Known only from the type, this species is characterized by its extremely short petiolules. A second collection (Cowan 39224 (NY) from 35 miles south of Mackenzie, Guyana), identified by Sandwith as A. maguirei, differs in a larger (10 X 8-9mm) almost glabrous calyx, the corolla tube scattered-lepidote outside, and the leaflets only very slightly punctate lepidote beneath. The Cowan collection may represent a new species.
