Description:Latin Diagnosis - Arbores ad 15 m altae; foliis lanceolatis, vulgo 8-10 cm longis, 2.5-4.0 cm latis, longi-acuminatis, subter albido-bubalinis, tomento subtiliter stellato, cum prominenter rufo-stellato-squamis; supra glabris; nervis aliquantum 5-jugis, prominentibus, fusco-stellatis squamatis; inflorescentiis vulgo 6-10-floribus; calycibus 4-5 mm longis, 5-denticulatis; corollis ca 12 mm longis; polline ca 80)li diam, ubsphaeroideo, tricolporato, colpis prominentibus; sporodermate rugulosopunctato; fructibus vulgo monospermis.

Tafelberg; small tree overhanging Lisa Creek, 300 m alt, 15 Aug 1944, Maguire 24369 (NY, U); Maguire 24416 (holotype NY, isotype U); tree to 15 m, 15 cm diam, flowers white, leaves silvery beneath, high bush, rim Arrowhead Basin, 565 m alt, 21 Aug 1944, Maguire 24424 (NY, U).
