Description:Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Extraordinarily distinctive and attractive because of the conspicuous radiate involucral bracts; a short-lived perennial confined to moist sandy savannas throughout Guayana, from alt. 100-1200 m, and on the Rio Negro in Brazil.
