Tabebuia hypolepra Sprague & Sandw., Kew Bull. 1932: 25. 1932. Type. Br. Guiana, Essequibo River, Sandwith 594 (K, RB, U, US). This species is perhaps not adequately separated from T. chrysantha which ranges to the north and west from Guayana.
