Colombia, Turbaco, Humboldt & Bonpland 1391 (P). Bignonia obovata (H.B.K.) Spreng., Syst. Veg. 2: 830. 1825. Martinella insculpta Sprague & Sandw., Kew Bull. 1934: 101. 1934. Type. Guyana, Drake sn (K). I am unable to distinguish Martinella insculpta Sprague & Sandw. from M. obovata. The differences in leaf epidermis seem not to be constant.
