    2. Digomphia laurifolia Bentham, Hook. Lond. Jour. Bot. 5: 364. 1846. Type. Guyana, Roraima, Schomburgk 1049 (not seen). Nematopogon laurifolius (Benth.) Bur. & K. Schum., Fl. Bras. 8(2): 396. 1897. This characteristic Guayana plant proves separable into two species. Only D. laurifolia occurs in the Highland where it ranges from 460 to 2200 meters in aldtude. Tillett & Tillett 43839 from the Upper Mazaruni River Basin, Imbaimadai Savannah is the lowest altitudinal record at 460 m.
