    Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. Known only from the central mesas of the Gran Sabana. VENEZUELA. Estado Bolivar: Torono-tepui, Chimanta, Steyermark & Wurdack 1028 (holotype NY, isotypes F, VEN); small tree 3-4 m, leaves coriaceous, silvery below, revolute, rachis nodding, pedicels and calyx gray-green, corolla greenish-white, forested quebrada along stream, cumbre de parte central occidental, 1760 m alt, Auyan-tepui, 4 May 1964, Steyermark 93363 (NY, VEN).
