Discussion
Type. Small tree, corolla white flushed pink, fragrant, frequent, northwest ridge above Camp Yutaje at 1400 m alt, Cerro Yutaje, Territorio Amazonas, Venezuela, 23 Feb 1953, Bassett Maguire & Celia K. Maguire 25394 (holotype NY). The two mesas, Guanay and Yutaje, are adjacent. It is not surprising that the species should occur on both mountains. But that the respective populations should show consistent readily recognized minor differences would indicate little genetic exchange between the two varieties.
