Description:Latin Diagnosis - Folia elliptica bis vix oblongo-elliptica.

Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA: Bolivar: frequent in upper northwest cumbre of Churi-tepui, (Muru-tepui) 2250-2300 m; shrub 0.2-0.5 m, flowers pink; 26 Jan 1953, Wurdack 34201 (holotype, NY; isotype, F); lower cumbre of Churi-tepui, Wurdack 34169 (paratype); Cano Mojado, Toronotepui, Chimanta Massif, Steyermark & Wurdack 991 (paratype); upper part of Auyan-tepui, Vareschi & Foldats 4884, Tate 1130 (paratypes).

Discussion:Typical S. imthurniana, apparently limited to Mt. Roraima, has oblanceolate or obovate-oblong leaf blades widest above the middle, while subsp. chimantensis has leaves widest at or slightly below the middle.
