Discussion:7. Ledothamnus sessiliflorus N. E. Brown, Trans. Linn. Soc. Lond. IL Bot. 6: 45. 1901. Fig 75A-G. Ledothamnus guyanensis var minor Oliver, Trans. Linn. Soc. Lond. II. Bot. 2: 278, pl44A. 1887. Ledothamnus sessiliflorus var glaber N. E. Brown, Trans. Linn. Soc. Lond. II. Bot. 6: 45. 1901. This plant is very distinct from L. guyanensis with which it has been associated by Oliver. It differs not only by its smaller size and smaller leaves, but more importantly by its sessile flowers. Brown's var glaber cannot be considered distinctive solely on the basis of glabrous sepals and leaves. An additional specimen which maybe cited is Steyermark 58853 (VENEZUELA. Edo. Bolivar: Summit of Mount Roraima, northwest portion, north and northwest of Summit Camp, 2620-2740 m alt, 27 Sep 1944).
