Description:Distribution and Ecology - VENEZUELA: Bolivar: Chimanta Massif, moist forest along quebrada below waterfall, vicinity of Camp 4, southwestern edge of Apacara-tepui, alt. 1800-2000 m, Steyermarh 74980.

Discussion:I have referred this collection here in a broad sense and not without considerable hesitation. The longer leaf cells, especially above where they are linear rather than oval, suggest a distinct concept in comparison with the West Indian plants as Mr. Howard Crum has suggested. Muller has described three related species from Venezuela, but no critical comparison is possible from the descriptions and the originals may have been destroyed.
